Many people falsely believe that you need your own office to have a successful company. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Some of what I’ll be discussing here goes against conventional wisdom and thinking. You just have to turn off your brain’s “No” feature, and continue to have an open mind. And if you use these techniques, you’ll be miles ahead of your competitors!. A business is only a business if it has both a Product and Marketing. Without one, the other is lost. And if one is good and the other is bad, it depends on which of the two is bad to really control if the company is going to succeed or not. Later, I’ll discuss why. Do you know which one is more significant? Most people answered Product, and if you did, sorry, you’d be mistaken! And here’s why. Let assume that you were selling gold jewelry for $29.95 on your front lawn, but you didn’t publicize it. How many people would actually come? Probably not a whole lot! Does it matter that you have the most unbelievable sale on the planet? Nope! And if you look at it the other way, you could be selling the poorest quality goods in the world, but if your marketing is first-class, you will still get sales. Of course you may have to worry about high refund rates, but that’s another story. You need to start changing your beliefs on the true function of your company. You really aren’t in the business of selling your product or service. Your true business is marketing your product or services so that you can spawn sales. If you own a handyman business, don’t think of your company as selling handyman services. You must now believe that your company is marketing your handyman services. Your goal is to become an expert at marketing.
