The Barbie Doll vs. The Bratz Dolls

By Terry Edwards There is no question, argument, or debate over the fact that the Mattel Barbie doll is the most popular doll of all-time. Barbie has been a favorite of little girls for nearly 50 years now and a constant top selling toy in retail stores everywhere. With that said, there seems to be another doll favorite in stores these days called the Bratz dolls. The Bratz dolls have recently given Barbie some tough competition in the doll industry. Introduced in 2001, some of the many Bratz line of dolls include Bratz Babyz, Bratz Step Out, Bratz Rock Angelz, and many others as well. You can go inside any toy section of your favorite retailer and find a wide selection of these popular new dolls. Also included is a whole line of Lil Bratz which are designed for girls under 6 years of age. Another factor in this doll rivalry is the fact that the Bratz dolls have fashions and accessories that include every ethnic group, whereas up until the last couple of years, Barbie had not. Could it have been the competition from Bratz that forced Barbie into this change? With Bratz closing the gap in sales, Barbie needed to come up with some fresh ideas. It should also be noted that Bratz dolls are also available in male models as well. Over the past few holiday seasons we have seen the Princess Barbie and the Pauper Anneliesse become very popular and very good sellers. We are also seeing Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus. Included in the selection is Pegasus Annika, Cloud Queen Rayla, Prince Aidan, and Flying Horse Brietta. The newest line of Barbie’s is the Barbie Mini Kingdom. This line of Barbie,s is a miniature collection of dolls and accessories that are 6″ in height. Bratz has followed suit with a line called Bratz Forever Diamondz. At a price of $29.95 it is the most expensive Bratz dolls yet. The success this new collection is enjoying is very impressive. A new video game called Bratz Forever Diamondz is now on the market for Sony Playstation as well as Ninentendo. The company hopes this new video game will follow the success of the Rock Angelz game. Even more than this, there is talk of a full length animated motion picture in the works for release in 2007. At no other time in Barbie’s history has the competition been this fierce. Will Barbie survive? Only time will tell, but I wouldn’t bet against her just yet. It would be hard to imagine life without Barbie. With nearly 50 years under her belt she has seen just about everything. Does anybody see the similarities between this years Barbie range and last years Barbie range? Is it just a coincidence that Princess Anneliesse from last year is now Princess Annika, Pauper Erika is now Cloud Queen Rayla and King Dominic/Julian is now Prince Aidan. They also look pretty similar too!
This is not to say that the new range is not fantastic because it is but maybe this explains the sudden interest in something new for children such as the new Bratz dolls which are exciting and different and not scared of causing controversy. Maybe our children need toys that reflect the times and do not send us back to our past. Barbie maybe correct in trying to try a few different styles in order to compete with Bratz but diversification may be in order. You can find out much more about the Barbie Doll vs The Bratz Doll as well as more information on everything to do with Barbie on our website at http://www.Barbie.InfoFromA-z.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Terry_Edwards http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Barbie-Doll-vs.-The-Bratz-Dolls&id=340995 xanax prescription

Guide to Getting UK Car Insurance

By Mary Simone Remember back when you had to travel from insurer to insurer or spend hours on the telephone ringing up possible insurers to find the best deal on car insurance? Who actually has the extra time anymore to run all over town? Besides, the odds arent in your favor that you actually found the best deal, anyhow. Thats why so many of us are now shopping on the World Wide Web for those tough to find items that require comparison shopping, with insurance being at the top of the list. Heres a quick and easy guide to getting car insurance in the UK. 1. Service is a top priority. What good does saving a few pounds do for anyone if your claim is constantly placed at the back of the pile, your telephone messages go unreturned, and youre inconvenienced for weeks on end? These things are called accidents are for a reason, and the entire scenario can be exhausting enough without your insurer dragging their feet at every possible avenue. So before you agree to the terms and conditions of an insurer, be sure to check their customer satisfaction ratings and for any complaints filed. 2. Price is another important point to consider. And the best way to get the best price is by comparison shopping. Be sure to inform any potential insurer that you will be getting multiple quotes from other insurers. This will help to keep them at the top of their game and at the bottom of their price. 3. Have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) ready. Just because youre driving a Honda Civic, it doesnt mean that youll be paying the same rate as someone else with a Honda Civic, even if your driving records are exactly the same. Your auto might have anti-lock brakes and an anti-theft device of sorts, while the other might have an expensive sound system. All of these things will have an effect your individual quote and final price. 4. Dont be afraid to say NO! If you dont need the extra coverage for compact discs, dont buy it- no matter how much the insurer tells you that its a good idea to have. Youll need basic collision to protect your car, comprehensive to protect others, and a few other tidbits depending on your individual situation. For instance, perhaps your auto has a loan from the bank attached to it. In this case, you are technically not the owner of the car–the bank is, and they can demand as much insurance coverage as theyd like on their investment. 5. Just because something is easy, it doesnt mean its bad. There are some highly qualified websites out there on the Internet who will do all of the comparison-shopping for you. Such a service is free, as you, the insured, do not pay for this service; the insurance company you choose picks up the bill. Relationship Help for Women: Holidays and Love

By Rori Gwynne Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Winter Solstice, many more traditions both religious and secular all together, all at once the mere thought of it fills me with feelings of dread. Is it because I remember that winter in New York and how depressed that year was? Is it because theres so much family at the holidays and I feel not only obligated and exhausted but an adolescent again around so much of my history? My family history is wonderful. Im one of the very lucky ones. A not so dysfunctional home perhaps not passion, but at least humor, affection and lots of support and attention for my brother and me. Perhaps it just feels as if all the pain of the world comes into relief around the ever present pictures of joy at this time of year. I know its not about me at all. Its not personal. Do we all just notice, suddenly, all at the same time, that were all in this together? We go to church, go to synagogue, light candles, wrap presents, shop in the same stores, rush around in the dark after work. It feels so unreal. Like going through the motions without any real heart. And then all at once it hits me. Its transition time. Something has ended. Something has started. Even more than at birthday time, Im older. My daughter moves toward her own life. My husband feels time there are days to Christmas and days to New Years. Weve done this before. Over and over. The ritual of transition. To those of you who are waiting on the edge of a new relationship showing up or hoping the one youve started will turn concrete or hoping the one youve been long committed to will take flight into bliss believe it will. Regardless of how unsettling the holidays can be for so many reasons unique to each of us theres magic in the air. Things can happen. We are all teetering at a transition, looking for meaning to drop into our lives. Allow it to tip in. It will. Part of what is so challenging about the end of the year is that we all feel pressed to do so much. Presents, parties, family, gather that man under your wing before the year ends, tension, anger, old resentments. Instead, try something different. Instead of trying to swim through this, sink into it. Believe the wave of emotion and giddiness and pressure and pain and feeling like a child again will hold you up. You will not be dropped on your head. You will float across the sea of possibilities into the next part of your life a bit more transparent. A bit wiser, a bit more vulnerable, feeling fragile but relying on the steel within you to let the world see what a beautiful, delicate, intricate, complex and yet totally whole woman you are. Even when I cant see it, cant feel it, cant trust it, I believe. Sometimes Im propelled into action to help someone else and then I feel more human and less fragile. I feel of use. But sometimes I just make myself lie down on the floor and look up at the ceiling. Instead of a solid plaster barrier above my head if I look really hard I can see a window, a passage, a worm hole-time warp-incomprehensible path to what I cant see. And its not just my future, its my possibilities. I look up into something I cant see and let myself sink into myself. I thank the floor for holding me up, and then I just fly into whatever there is out there. I believe its bliss. I believe that my future and my daughters future, and my husbands future, and the futures of all my dear friends and family and clients, and even the futures of people I can never feel close to or even good when Im around them, are full of possibilities. Things I could never even imagine. Itll take the living of it, moment by moment, transition by transition, feeling by feeling, experience by experience, with the highest hopes I can muster, to discover what they are. Wishing you bliss, joy, experience, love, faith, hope, adventure, and a glimpse of the beauty of your own soul in a random moment shared with all of us in the place we cant see thats full of possibilities… In her packed Los Angeles workshops, relationship coach, author, speaker and seminar leader Rori Gwynne teaches women the completely original, controversial, simple-to-do techniques for communication, confidence, and connecting with men that she used to turn her own now-glorious eighteen-year marriage around. Boosting Your Bottom Line: The 9 Keys to Marketing Success

By Kim Nishida Are you a small business owner whos just getting started or a veteran who is eager to review the basics and generate more income through effective marketing? Walk through these 9 keys and turn your dread of marketing into a passion. 1. Craft your vision statement: Answer the question, Why does my company exist? This is the heart and soul of your organization and the platform from which you should make every decision be it marketing, product development, or customer service related. 2. Identify your ideal client: Take a hard look again at why youre in business in the first place. Then identify whos really going to want what youre selling. Whos going to understand exactly where youre coming from and jump at the chance to do business with you? If you can identify those quality consumers, you will have a much easier time finding them. 3. Target your SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats): The first two components are internal–whats going on inside of you and your company. The last two areas are external or the outside forces you must consider. There are unlimited applications for the SWOT exercise. 4. Ask, What makes my company unique? Why should anyone do business with you as opposed to your numerous competitors? Consider how you make decisions when faced with a choice between similar products from different manufacturers. How do you decide which car or soda to buy? Remember, each potential client asks the same question when they consider buying from you. How do you stand out? If Starbucks just sold cups of coffee, they would not have become the dominant force they are today. 5. Expand your possibilities: Think BIG. A gold fish will only grow as large as its environment allows. Slip the fish into a bigger bowl and watch it grow. The same is true of your marketing plan. Think conservatively and small and your business is likely to remain that way. Dare to dream and think large. You will never reach the big goal if you think its not possible. 6. Hone your goals & tactics: Using your vision statement as a compass point, ask what goals do you need to achieve in order to reach your vision? Remember to set SMART goals (specific, measurable, action-oriented, realistic, time sensitive). Once you have them all listed, ask, If I accomplish every single one of these goals, will that guarantee success? If the answer is not a resounding Yes! keep adding goals until you are satisfied. Next, break each goal down into the specific steps or tactics necessary to accomplish each goal. Ask, If I finish every listed tactic will I reach this goal? If the answer is no, keep breaking it down to the last detail. 7. Set your priorities: Once youve got your goals and tactics in place you have got to put them in order. Write each one out on a separate piece of paper and shuffle them around. Look at each one and ask, How important is this to my success in the next 3 months? Use the ABCDE method of prioritization. Sort them in groups of As, Bs, and Cs, based on importance. Ds are anything you can delegate. Es are anything you can eliminate. Next, prioritize within each group: A1, A2, A3. Finally, get to work. Even though you might be tempted, dont move on to the Bs until you have completed all the A tasks. 8. Take action: One of the most critical steps in any marketing plan is to get your hands dirty and get started. The marketing plan that never reaches the public will net you zero sales. Learn to embrace the notion of failure as feedback on how to get it right. With this attitude, any setback becomes an opportunity to fine tune your plan and make it better. A parting anonymous quote: Failing quickly is at least better than failing slowly. 9. Be consistent and patient: Without these two pieces of the puzzle, your marketing plan is doomed to failure. Create a marketing plan that covers the next 12, 24, and 36 months. Once you have taken the time to unlock doors with the first 8 keys, use consistency and patience to broadcast your message to your customers. A client might need to encounter your message a minimum of 9 times before he/she is ready to buy. Therefore, understand that you will never know whether your plan is working within the first 60 days. Practice patience. Not enough clients for your small business? Kim Nishida, author of the innovative program Conception to Completion helps you realize your full potential. An Introduction To Aromatherapy

By Kent Pinkerton The art and science of using volatile oils for the psychological and physical well-being is called aromatherapy. These volatile oils are derived from plants. Essential oils are used the most in aromatherapy on account of their innumerable benefits they have on the mind-body system of human beings. There are many types of essential oils that are used in aromatherapy to fetch different therapeutic results. Aromatherapy is said to trigger certain biochemical responses in the brain that in turn activate certain dormant function of the body and mind to impart a sense of well-being. Since aromatherapy is widely practiced, there is an array of products in the market that are sold as aromatherapy products, but actually are not. Sometimes even certain types of perfumes are passed on as aromatherapy oils. The fakes do not get the desired results that one would expect from a real aromatherapy product. The fakes normally use fragrance oils in place of true aromatherapy oils. So while buying an aromatherapy product it should be ensured that the brand belongs to a reputed company and the ingredients are clearly listed on the container. Aromatherapy has been in use for thousands of years now, even if it came to be known as aromatherapy somewhere after 20th century. Aromatherapy is said to be of Chinese origin. Egyptians have used aromatherapy by drawing distilled oils from cinnamon, nutmeg, cedar wood, clove, and myrrh. From Egyptians it is said to have passed on to Greek. Aromatherapy has also been used by Persians and Indians thousands of years ago. Backed by a rich history, it is only in 19th century that the perfumery industry woke up to the benefits of using aromatherapy for financial gains. This was also the time when aromatherapy began to be tested in scientific laboratories for understanding the important mechanisms of aromatherapy products on mind and body. As a result of its impact on mind, aromatherapy is also considered as a forte of people indulging in spiritual practices. Aromatherapy provides detailed information on Aromatherapy, Aromatherapy Oil, Aromatherapy Candles, Aromatherapy Diffusers and more. Aromatherapy is affiliated with Acupuncture Schools. Cheat Days

By Ken Bendor For most people the definition of a diet is to reduce calories in order to lose weight. Most of the calories that are cut come from the foods that many of us find delicious such as chips, sweets and fast food. Its a bad idea to eat these on a daily basis even if you’re not on a diet. Another bad idea is to never eat the foods you love again for the sake of your health. While diet and nutrition have a huge impact on your overall health, eating foods you enjoy can have as big of an impact on your psychological health. Eating foods that you enjoy can bring you happiness. Food is a part of everyone’s culture and should be enjoyed. Healthy diets are about moderation. Have a piece of cake but don’t eat the whole thing and don’t have it everyday. Diets were never about completely cutting out parts of your life that you enjoy. Cheat days can help you get through the hard times of a diet. Once you have a stable diet that you are used to, a good idea is to institute a cheat day about once a week. This day isn’t about reversing the progress you’ve made by eating everything you see. Its about relaxing and not worrying about the amount calories to consume or foods that are off limits. On your cheat day you can forget about counting calories. You can use this day to go to your favorite restaurant and eat your favorite dessert. Keep in mind that even though you’ve worked hard the rest of the week, it doesn’t take much to derail your weight loss efforts. Enjoy yourself but don’t go overboard. Don’t start your cheat day until you’re sure that your diet is on solid ground. Its pretty easy to enjoy yourself a bit too much and have another cheat day and another. Don’t have them back to back and remember that once tomorrow comes the rules of your diet are back in effect. Advanced Guide to Dieting Straight Health was started in July 2006 to spread accurate and easy to understand information about health, diets, exercise and nutrition. A Poinsettia for Christmas - Is Yours Doomed or Will it Get a Second Chance?

By Elisabeth Mcgill No other plants spell Christmas as much as Poinsettias do. Right around Thanksgiving they appear in every store that handles plants and millions are purchased to decorate homes and businesses.
Even though there are nowadays other colors and strangely formed bracts available, it must have been the showy, bright red and green leaves, called bracts, that have turned the Poinsettia into a favorite of the Christmas season. The Poinsettias that are sold for the Holidays are mostly grown in greenhouses where moisture and hours of daylight can be controlled. Once the plants go to market, growing conditions are not quite so ideal. Poinsettias like moist soil but no standing water, they like sunshine and don’t like sudden temperature changes or drafts. Not having those conditions often causes a rapid decline and the leaves fall prematurely. At that point probably most Poinsettia plants are doomed and go into the trash. If you took better care of your Poinsettia and nursed it along into early spring, when the leaves fall naturally , you might be ready to give it a second chance. Cut the stems back to two buds, reduce watering to a minimum, stop fertilizing and store in a cool spot until late spring. When there is no more danger of frost, set the pot in light shade outdoors. By July you can resume fertilizing and might consider repotting into a larger pot. In August you can cut the stems back to just three leaves per shoot to make the plant bushier. If you live in a milder climate, your poinsettia might survive outside in a sheltered spot, otherwise, when there is any danger of frost, you should bring the plant inside. Since the bracts only turn color when the plant experiences long nights, it should be in the dark from 5 pm to 8 am the next day for ten weeks, starting in late September. If you follow that schedule you should have your Poinsettia bloom again by Christmas. Keep On Keepin On Until They Say STOP!

By Craig Valine For the last eleven years I’ve been a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (aka “Jaycees”).
If you’re not familiar with the organization, it’s a member-service organization whose purpose is
“leadership training through community service.” In other words, the organization creates and improves leaders through community involvement. One of the biggest challenges the Jaycees face, around the world, is attracting new members
(their version of “customers”). I’ve noticed a damaging flaw in many of the membership teams who are responsible for get
prospects to join. They invite guests to meetings and functions, and if they don’t join that night,
they never contact them again! They dont “keep on keepin’ on” with their sales and marketing
efforts, and thus, lose these prospects forever. Isnt that crazy? I hate seeing this. Because I once held a membership position in the Jaycees for a one-year
term and during that year we recruited over 171 new members! That was huge. Know how my team did it? We constantly worked our list of prospects until they said,
“stop calling me!” We kept on calling until they said Stop! Every function we held to attract new members had a guest sign-in sheet. They had to put
their name, address, phone, and how they heard about the Jaycees. The more information we had on them and their interests made it easy to invite them to the
function that would be most beneficial to them. Then, once they had a great experience, hopefully they would join. We constantly worked our list. But, that’s not my main point here. The main point is, sometimes the opportunity you’re offering your prospects IS RIGHT FOR THEM,
but the timing isn’t. Your prospects desires and circumstances constantly change. ==> Sometimes, it’s a money issue. ==> Sometimes, it’s a timing issue. ==> Sometimes, it’s a priority issue. ==> Sometimes, it’s a “I don’t have enough information issue” People’s lives keep changing. By merely showing regular interest and continually communicating
with your prospects - for however long it takes - and by making compelling offers they can’t
refuse - you increase your chances for prospering. So, I hope my message is clear. If someone inquires about your product or service, but doesn’t buy
right away… it doesn’t mean they’re not interested. Life is a moving parade. Keep on keepin’ on by contacting them on a regular basis until they say
“STOP! oruntil they’re ready to buy. 2001 By Craig Valine ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Craig Valine is a Marketing Performance Coach Who Helps Independent
